HTS Road-Flex System
Description
HTS Road-Flex is a hot screed thin bond
system designed to repair and rejuvenate worn asphalt surfaces. HTS
Road-Flex is a fast and effective repair system which can significantly
extend the life of the running surface.
The system can be applied all year round and is normally traffickable
within 20-40 minutes depending on the ambient temperature.
Uses
HTS Road-Flex
is suitable
for treating aggregate loss from the asphalt surface, cracking and debonding
between the asphalt seams, rutting and carriageway deformation.

Binder
The binder is a modified rosin ester, mineral oil,
SBS and acetate co-polymer blend to comply with specification requirement given
in Table 1.

Aggregate
The encapsulated coarse aggregate has a minimum
polished stone value (PSV) of 62 and an aggregate abrasion value (AAV) of
4. The grading of the incorporated
aggregate and mineral extender shall conform to the requirements of Table 2.

Application
The material shall be applied transversely across
the road surface using a screed box with a suitable trailing edge allowing the
encapsulated aggregate to be evenly distributed. On an average textured surface (TD = 1.5), the material shall be
applied at a rate of 10.5 - 11.5kg/m² (85 - 95m²/tonne) and finished to give an
even, durable and textured surface free of lumps and other blemishes.
Aftercare
The finished surfacing can be trafficked once the
installation has reached the ambient temperature of the adjacent road surface
