THERMOPLASTIC HIGH FRICTION & COLOURED SURFACING
Walker Minerals Limited manufacture the HTS Range of high friction, coloured surfacing and surface repair systems for highway and airfield maintenance projects. These hot screed thermoplastic materials are suitable for application onto asphalt and concrete surfaces which in service provide an effective and durable skid resistant/ high visibility surface treatment, typically 3-5 mm finished thickness.

HTS thermoplastic materials are less weather sensitive than epoxy and polyurethane based systems, they can be applied all year round at temperatures down to 0°C and depending on ambient temperature they can be trafficked within 30-60 minutes of application minimising traffic disruption.
HTS High Friction Surfacing
 
  • Suitable for use on approaches to roundabouts, sharp bends,
    pedestrian crossings road junctions, bridges and other hazard sites.
  • Available in Guyanan or Chinese Bauxite grades which can be pigmented for specialist applications.
  • The product conforms to Clause 924 of the Specification for Highway Works (1998) and is certified under the BBA/HAPAS Approval Scheme for High Friction Surfacing Type 3 - Certificate No. H99/HO29.
  • HTS High Friction Surfacing Type 1 system is a low viscosity material suitable for application on high stress areas. Independent tests to determine Scuffing and Tensile Adhesion confirm the products ability to meet the BBA/HAPAS requirements for a Type 1 HFS system.

HTS Coloured Surfacing Systems

· Suitable for use in dedicated traffic calming schemes ie village gateways, rumble bars, ghost islands, mini roundabouts and for Bus and Cycle routes.


· Available in Standard Red and Green with other colour options available for environmentally sensitive schemes.


· High performance systems with excellent colour retention which are durable and cost effective in giving a visual and sensory message in traffic calming solutions.
HTS Road-Flex

· A rapid repair system for treating worn out asphalt surfaces which can extend the life of running surface.


· Suitable for treating rutting and carriageway deformation, cracking and debonding between asphalt seams and aggregate loss from the asphalt surface.


· Cost effective and traffickable within 20 - 30 minutes depending on ambient temperature.
